The Kingdom of Pacchia Book 4 Coming Soon!

It’s almost here, I’m hard at work finishing up Book 4 in this series and to give you guys a little hint at whats to come, here is the first chapter! We rejoin our omega king, Aubrey Allora, on the even of his long awaited wedding to Lord Riven!

Pacchia4Chapter One, The State of Affairs

The ceremony was much what one would expect from just such an event—that is, the wedding of the newly crowned High King of Pacchia to the Lord Dierik Riven. It was arranged to cater to tradition, ostentatious enough to please the more traditionalist members of the court, but not so overwhelming that it ran entirely counter to the King’s taste, which was rather muted compared to that of many in the peerage.

Aubrey had struggled to walk the line between what was expected and what he desired. If it had been entirely up to him, he would have preferred a small, private ceremony the week after his proposal to Lord Riven, overseen by the Lord Chamberlain, and witnessed by their families and the most loyal of his lords. But he was cognizant that that sort of ceremony was not the kind a king could afford to indulge in.

With the court on the edge of chaos, Sir Elsa Riven and the Honorable Winston Dupuis find themselves caught between lust and duty as they chaperone King Aubrey and Lord Riven’s continuing courtship. What began as a release of sexual tension soon consumes the alpha and beta.

But social mores are against them. A relationship of any legality is impossible, and the two must decide what is worth fighting for and what is worth letting ago as winter settles over the Kingdom of Pacchia.

Contains A/B/O dynamics, including a relationship between a male beta (human biological normal male) and a female alpha (externally appears female but reproductively male).

From the Author

I always knew I was going to write THE HONORABLE BETA, but I won’t lie, the book concerns me a little. Not for the story it tells or the subject matter, but how it would be received.

When I began writing the Kingdom of Pacchia series, I formulated my personal headcanon for how the Alpha/Beta/Omega dynamics worked. And I knew from the start that there would be female alphas. And those female alphas would have cocks. But how would people respond to an outwardly female character whose biology was very alien male?

I’m still uncertain how Elsa will be received, but one of my policies when I write–kind of a golden rule to my own personal storytelling–is that I strive to be absolutely honest both to the story and to the reader. Therefore, rather than shy away from Elsa and Winston’s relationship I’ve attempted to shine a thoughtful and considerate light on it.

THE HONORABLE BETA fits neatly into the canon of the Kingdom of Pacchia and I have plans to revisit these characters in the future, but unlike ALL THE KING’S MEN, this story may be viewed as supplementary to the main canon. I hope that you will read it with an open mind. It is much more a traditional romance novella than Book 2, with plenty of hot alpha-on-beta action.

Happy reading, Lia

Cover Reveal: The Kingdom of Pacchia Book 3!

Well guys, I’m in the homestretch working on THE HONORABLE BETA, Book 3 in The Kingdom of Pacchia series. I’ve been a little side tracked with a super fun head cold but I think it’s starting to clear up so I can get back to my regular work schedule.

I had originally planned on releasing The Honorable Beta early next month but I’m the worst at sitting on finished projects so it looks like the release date is going to be bumped either to this weekend or early next week as a special Xmas gift to all of you guys!

In the meantime, here’s a sneak peak of the cover…the hon beta

The Kingdom of Pacchia Book 2: All the King’s Men ARC and Lia’s Updates

What Lia’s Been Up To

Wow guys, I have been super remiss in blogging this past year. But then again, I’ve been super remiss in writing this year as well. I had a fairly good excuse for this: in January my sister and I opened a tea room/cafe. I don’t want to go into the details, lets just say it seemed like a good idea at the time but once I was stuck working a 9-5, 7 days a week with no time or energy to write I realized just how important writing is to me.

We closed our tea room at the end of October, just in time for me to participate in NaNoWriMo and that has been SO MUCH fun!

After a very long 15 months I’ve finally finished writing the sequel to The Omega Prince! This story has gone through several changes since I began writing and evolved into a bit of a monster compared to the first book, clocking in at about 40% more words than The Omega Prince.

**CLOSED**The Kingdom of Pacchia 2: All the King’s Men – Advanced Reader Copies

Pacchia 2 400x640

All the King’s Men picks up very soon after where The Omega Prince left off: the Tri-fete has been cancelled, Duke Brier has been arrested, and Lord Riven remains persona-non-grata at the high court. Tensions mount as the high king calls for a gemōt, or a legal tribunal, to examine Lord Riven’s accusations against Lord Bourn. It’s got romance, action, political intrigue, and some hot Alpha/Omega loving.

If you follow my tumblr, you may have noticed that I’ve posted the first couple of pages from Pacchia #2 over this past week. Now I’d like to offer up ARCs (advanced reading copies) of the FULL novel to my readers. If you enjoyed reading the first book in this series and are interested in getting your hands on a free copy of the sequel fill out the form below and let me know before December 7th and I’ll send you your copy as well as my thanks for sticking by me despite having disappeared for most of the last year 😉

Author’s Note

Here it is! The novella I began writing a month ago for fun because I needed a break from Blood & Bone and all the pressure that comes with that series, here’s the first in a little series of stories set in a AU medieval kingdom called Pacchia where Alpha/Beta/Omega sex and gender are the norm. (this concept is often called Omegaverse if you’re fannish)

I described this book to my writing partner as Medieval Jane Austen and it was a hellofalot of a fun to write. Check it out and lmk what you think!

Excerpt

Prologue

He was Lord Riven now, the only son of the late Lord Riven.

A middle child, considered spoilt and indolent in his youth through very little fault of his own. It was the prerogative of the peerage to keep their children in the comfortable style to which they themselves were raised. And so the youngest Lord Riven was instructed by tutors in the manor castle, taught to ride and mock fight, and left to enjoy the pleasanter pastimes in life such as hunting every day except Sundurn, which was reserved for feasting.

The son, known to his sisters and closest companions as Dierik, was little seen at the High Court of the King of Lyle, and there was much talk bandied amongst the other houses when his fourteenth birthday came and went without his joining the King’s Guard as was the want of most noble sons looking to distinguish themselves.

No acts of valor, scholarship, or might were thus put forward to advance the young Dierik, and his name was predominantly forgotten until his twentieth year when news reached the High Court that Lord Riven and his household, excepting the son and the youngest daughter, had been murdered in their beds and the manor castle burned to its foundations.

After that, the name Riven was explicably attached to gratuitous rumors of patricide and plot though no evidence ever surfaced that the son was in fact the root cause of his family’s fall. The damage was already done. The more greedy and tenacious corners of the court, smelling blood, were quick to circle the floundering house. Within a month, expeditionary forces began to make their presence felt all along House Riven’s boarders and shortly after the son gathered his knights and loyal vassals and marched to his defenses.

That was eight years ago.

So I made a DAY-Of post about the release of my new book here and on twitter but I’m a big believer in NOT SPAMMING my list so after that first day I kind of stayed quiet. But you know, we all have busy lives and don’t always stay up-to-the-minute on our blogroll or RSS feeds. I figure it’s time to make another little post saying Hey, lookit, I published the sequel!

You can read chapter 1 here on my blog.

Blurb:

Walking away from your soulmate is not for the faint of heart…

Following the Matilde Walker murder, Detective Ethan Ellison is back working misdemeanors and minor crimes, but he’s only just begun to realize how much the experience has changed his life.

Meanwhile, Detective Patrick Clanahan would give anything to get the memory of Ethan out of his head. If he can’t have him, and every sign suggests that he can’t, he sure has hell wishes everything at the station didn’t remind him of the other man.

Murder, UST, pining, and emotional turmoil lurk right around the corner for both men as Seattle hurtles to the hottest summer on record and their fates bring them back together in THE CONVERGENCE THEORY, Book Two in the Blood & Bone Trilogy.

This is the tense sequel to THE DUALITY PARADIGM.

Contains explicit M/M and minor M/F content.

Review Copies

As with THE DUALITY PARADIGM, I will be offering review copies for people who are interested. I only ask that you write an HONEST review, state that you received a review copy somewhere in your review, and post your review on the web and link me (Amazon, Goodreads, personal blog etc). If you’re interested in reviewing Book 2 send me an email: liacooperromance AT gmail DOT com.

Book 3 News

So what’s in store next? I’ve got ~33% of the final book in the trilogy written and I’ll be working on that over the next couple of months. Originally i’d hoped to have to ready to be published very soon after book 2 but it looks like early Winter is going to be more accurate. I’ll be posting a sneak peak of the cover and Chapter 1 as we get closet to the release date, so stay tuned!

I’ve also started a tumblr based WIP called The Omega Prince. TOP began life as an exercise in having fun with my writing. I just wanted to write a sweet fantasy AU, not of our world, that examined Alpha/Beta/Omega dynamics in a non oppressive culture. IDK about you but I get sick and tired of fantasy AUs that are just our world, with all of its prejudices and misogyny, and the serial numbers scrubbed off.

Here’s the first snippet for you reading pleasure:
